Orthodox Jews tend to marry Orthodox Jews. In the last few decades there have been numerous conversions of African Americans, Chinese and Hispanic to the orthodox religion. Many of the comments here are not merely offensive but downright scary. While I’m no judge I think many are made out of ignorance and are protected by on-line annonymity. I am not Jewish – but – having been raised in Bensonhurst I recognize anti-semitism when I see it. Anti anything, when it comes to people, not war, bombs and the like, is futile. Not so fast with the calls to summarily execute this guy. We still live in America, where even the absolute worst of the worst of the worst still get their day in court. I find his remarks incredibly offensive. The Idea that an entire religious community can be made to look dirty and immoral because of the actions of one sick member, is disgusting to me. It is time we realize that there are good and bad people. They exist in our world in every race, creed, and religion. It is WRONG to characterize the entire community with bigoted and hateful remarks such as this. Grow up people! God, or Yaweh, or Mohammed, or Buddha would never condone this kind of bigotry. As horrendous as it might sound, it is known that Hasidics do marry and have relations with close family members. They’re not allowed to marry non-Hasidics and therefore have a very small genetic pool to choose from. It is one of the reasons why so many have poor eye vision.
