Rangers Place Sean Avery On Waivers… Again

NEW YORK (WFAN) — Sean Avery’s latest stint with the Rangers appears to be over.

The Rangers have placed Avery on waivers just days ahead of Monday’s much-anticipated Winter Classic showdown against Philadelphia, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

The agitator already cleared waivers once this year. Avery spent most of October with the AHL’s Connecticut Whale.

Avery, who has been a healthy scratch for nine straight games, has three goals and zero assists in 15 games this season.

The 31-year-old would likely head back to the Whale if unclaimed.

I like Avery, he is feisty, quick, hungry….but how can you question the coach’s decision..the chemisty is great, we are in first, we are getting better and smarter as the season wares on…IIt’s a shame..stay around Sean…..

How many Cups has Avery won????? I think Mike Rupp has 2….case closed…Didn’t Rupp also have a Cup winning goal??? And another funny thing is that no other team wants a guy like Avery….

Charlie Huddy won a lot of cups as well. I’m not saying Rupp wasn’t a good player. He’s older and slower now.Avery brings a lot more energy to the team.

You’re comparing Charlie Huddy with Mike Rupp???? Different positions my friend….Wake up and smell he coffee…If Avery is such an energy guy how come he has passed thru waivers?????

  4. manny morales says:

The coach has a crush on Rupp. Avery has always been underrated by management. Not happy with this move.

What the hell is Rupp doing on the ice the guys half of what Avery brings to the team!

  6. BleacherCreature26 says:

to call mike rupp a hockey player is a disgrace to the sport itself.
to call mike rupp a RANGER is a disgrace to the blueshirt faithful.

how bout we dump rupp, not avery. Avery is actually very underrated. his job is to draw penalties and amp up the intensity – any fan knows sean does that very well.

This isn’t fair to Sean. Tortorella Just doesn’t like him.

    1. Steve Chong says:
