The New York City Department of Correction said the accident took place between Exits 14A and 14B.

1010 WINS’ Al Jones reports

No life-threatening injuries were reported, and at least three people were spotted getting into an ambulance.

The bus also was carrying three DOC staffers.

All inmates and staff were escorted off the bus, the DOC said. Some prisoners at the scene were spotted standing and handcuffed.

The prisoners and staffers were taken to an area hospital following the crash.

The bus was bound for Ulster Correctional Facility, a medium-security prison. The prisoners were being transported there after being held in New York City for court appearances.

The bus apparently rolled over after being cut off on the Thruway. A spokesman told the Associated Press there was no escape attempt.

Hey Anthony since the bus that had an accident was a prison bus and not a coach bus, it’s possible that someone was stupid enough to cut the that bus off!
Also you can’t hide from the truth they believe the inmates before they will the officers and they were the ones who told the story.

“The bus apparently rolled over after being cut off on the Thruway.” How many people would be silly enough to believe that statement? This is an attempt to shift culpability onto someone else who doesn’t even exist.

Do you people remember the bus crash on the New England Thruway at the Bronx/Westchester border a couple of years ago in which 14 people were killed. Ophadel Wiilliams told investigators that he was cut off by a tractor trailer.

When a major accident occurs, the first line of defense is to blame someone else.

  • Decision overturned

Guess that this is Proof of legal decisions being “Overturned”, getit?

Now where else were they being held but in upstate NY . This is where all the longtime prisoners go . Never mind most are from the city and committed there crimes there .

Diane…. THEIR CRIMES THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! walking away shaking head…

      • DesignerVoodoo

Where do you think most the tax revenue that is need to operate these prisons comes from?

    • DesignerVoodoo

I don’t understand your comment. It is the State of New York!

    • Bob

If not for prisons in upstate, what else would people do for jobs? Excluding gov’t jobs.

    Exit 14 a & B does not exsist on I 87

    • Idyllic Ranger

Billy, two things you seem to have a problem with… Between the 287 and 87 merge in Elmsford and the 287 / 87 split in Suffern, the roadway is I 287 / 87. While there may be no 14B, there sure is Exit 14 (for Rt 59 in Spring Valley) and an Exit 14A (for the Garden State Parkway) Sorry you got us on such a minor technicality.

      • Idyllic Ranger

and how could I have missed it…….Peter, right on! Airmont Rd….. I drive that everyday!!! hahaha. (must be busy responding to crazy comments and not paying attention when i pass 14B) :)

    • Peter

Billy you need to be schooled !!! 14A New Jersey – Garden State Parkway
      TOLL Spring Valley Toll Barrier

      14B Airmont – Montebello – Airmont Road

    • Amused but not misled

Conspiracy theorist. It’s a secret exit known only to Correction Officers. It leads to the “special” testing lab on Shelter Island. lol

    • Blasterific

What are you the interstate director of exits. Go stick your head in the sand Bill. Oh and make me a sandwich.
