Former TSA Agents Sentenced For Stealing $40,000 From Baggage

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Two former airport security officers, who have already spent over a year in jail, have now been sentenced for theft.

They got an additional six months apiece behind bars for stealing $40,000 cash from a piece of checked luggage at JFK Airport.

Coumar Persad and Davon Webb were turned in by another TSA employee.

The Queens district attorney did not identify the victim of the theft because investigators believe the stolen $40,000, which was taken from a suitcase containing $170,000 cash, was part of an illegal shipment of drug money.
