EAST NORTHPORT, NY (CBSNewYork) - Some hope the snow never comes back. But for those in the snow removal business, it’s been tough.

A local hardware stores in the Tri-State Area, shovels, ice melts, and snowblowers aren’t selling.

“Yeah we need a snowstorm. The kids want it. Sleds and things like that are not selling,” said Mike Meita, who runs Elwood Hardware in East Northport.

It’s one of the weakest snow seasons he can recall.

It’s the same for Steve Jackson at Commack Hardware.

“Really kinda doing the snowdance. Hoping it comes down soon,” he told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.

Jackson says even the threat of snow would help.
