2 Women Dead In Separate LI Car Accidents

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two women are dead in a pair of unrelated vehicle accidents. A 27-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning in Old Westbury. Investigators said that she was driving a two door infiniti when she hit the rear end of a tractor-trailer on the Long Island Expressway.

The truck was parked on the shoulder of the Expressway near exit 39 east of Glen Cove Road.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, criminal activity is not suspected.

And a 68-year-old Brooklyn woman died when she lost control of her vehicle while driving in Carle Place in Nassau County on Saturday night.

According to police a medical problem caused the woman to become incapacitated and drive off of the road into a row of bushes and eventually crash into a sign post.

It was discovered that the woman had suffered cardiac arrest, attempts were made to revive the woman and she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The woman did not have any passengers and no one else was injured in the crash.
