From Boomer & Carton
Joe Girardi joined Boomer & Craig for the first time ever this morning and had a nice little chat about baseball, football and much more on this fine Wednesday morning in New York.
Right off the bat we got to hear the manager’s thoughts on the retirement of Yankees star Jorge Posada, who Girardi played with and managed.
Craig of course brought up the name AJ Burnett, which Girardi conveniently side-stepped, choosing rather to focus on trading Jesus Montero to the Mariners for pitcher Michael Pineda. Although he hated to see Montero go, he is very excited about the right-handed Pineda.
Eventually Girardi did broach the Burnett subject, saying the erratic pitcher really only had one bad month, unfortunately for him and the Yankees, that month was August.
We also heard about Girardi’s heroic ride home following the Yankees’ 2009 World Series victory, which did a pretty good job letting everyone know what a good guy Girardi really is.
As far as the Giants, Girardi predicted a win over the Pats in the Super Bowl and spoke of his relationship with Tom Coughlin.
Girardi has teamed-up MAB Celebrity Services and will be taking part in ‘Return to Glory: Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the 1977 World Series Champions’ return to glory starring Reggie’s 3 HR’s’. Girardi will be appearing on Saturday January 28th, at the Fairfield Crowne Plaza – 690 Route 46 East. Fairfield, NJ. For more information visit MAB-Celebrity.com…
