Henrik Lundqvist Will Not Face Devils Tuesday Night

NEWARK N.J. (AP) — All-Star goalie Henrik Lundqvist won't be in net for the New York Rangers when they play the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night, ending a string of 32 consecutive starts against the metropolitan area rivals.

Rangers coach John Tortorella said Tuesday that backup Martin Biron will get the call in the team's first game following the All-Star break. Lundqvist is expected to return on Wednesday when the Rangers play in Buffalo.

The previous time Lundqvist did not start a Rangers-Devils game was Dec. 17, 2006.

"We talked about this prior to the All-Star game, that we were going to go this way," Tortorella said.

Lundqvist has a career record of 23-9-5 against the Devils. Martin Brodeur is scheduled to play goal for New Jersey.
