NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) —Every February, the Lower East Side spot known for one of the city’s most delicious brunch menus moves their pancakes to the forefront.
For the entire month, Clinton Street Baking Co. makes their flapjacks the star of the show.
Every two to three days a new limited edition pancake is available throughout the day, even for dinner. CBSNewYork taste tested the breakfast delights to bring you the month’s highlights.
The pancake celebration opened with a crunchy banana concoction topped with a cinnamon-chile-chocolate sauce.
The perfect combination for anyone who likes chocolate and fruit, with a little extra spicy kick, it’s the only flavor that repeats later on in the month. If you missed it the first time around, you have the chance to try these on the 20th, 21st, or 22nd.
Another winner comes in the middle of the second week. On the 7th, 8th, and 9th, the Almond Frangipane pancakes.
They come topped with fresh raspberries, toasted almonds, and a swirl of raspberry sauce. The week after, Valentine’s Day gets its own special pancakes for lovers and singles alike: chocolate chunks with brandied Burgundy cherries. It’ll only be available that day, and they might still have dinner reservations!
On the 23rd and 24th, things get a little tropical with fresh coconut pancakes covered in kumquat syrup and bruleed bananas.
The month ends with three days of another fan favorite pancake: chocolate chunks with fresh raspberries and raspberry-caramel sauce. It will be the perfect reminder that spring will almost be here.
The flavors during Pancake Month are only available Monday through Friday during lunch and dinner service.
