NEW YORK (WFAN) – How do you top the biggest moment of your life?
Just ask Giants linebacker Greg Jones.
Moments after New York beat the New England Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI, Jones delivered an on-field proposal to his longtime girlfriend.
With victorious teammates and various members of the media milling about, Jones — who had just won a Super Bowl ring — stunned Mandy Piechowski with a ring of her own.
Piechowski, clad in a flashy No. 53 Jones jersey, burst into tears and said — what else? — yes.
“I was like, ‘I don’t know how long she’s going to keep crying,’” Jones told the Newark Star-Ledger.
Jones said if the Giants lost, he would’ve found a better time to propose to his Michigan State sweetheart.
“She definitely knows how I feel. A speech wasn’t even needed,” he told the paper. “Just everything we’ve been through together. She’s been here since Day One and she knew me long before everything else.”
