Police: Wrong Way Driver Caused Fatal Crash On FDR Drive

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A driver travelling the wrong way on the FDR drive caused a fatal chain reaction crash early Sunday morning.

A Nissan Maxima operated by a 26-year-old man was driving Northbound in the highway's southbound lanes when it struck a Dodge Caravan near the Houston street exit, according to police.

The driver of the Nissan and the driver of the Dodge, a 52-year-old man, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A third car, a Mazda being driven by a 22-year-old woman then slammed into the Dodge.

The driver of the Mazda and her passenger, a 31-year-old woman were taken to Bellvue Hospital and have been listed in stable condition.
