EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE, NY (CBSNewYork) - How large should real estate signs be in one Hamptons village? The debate is on.

The goal is to improve the look of East Hampton Village on Long Island.
So the mayor is looking at reducing the size of for sale signs, making them 18 inches by 18 inches, and they can be no higher than three feet.
But real estate agent Jane Gill from Saunders and Associates told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall she will not be too happy if this plan passes.
“I think what it’ll do is it it’ll slow down traffic. You know, somebody sees a sign and they can’t read it because it’s a lot smaller. Then they have to pull over. They say the signs are the number one tool for people to call on a property. By doing this, I think it’s really going to reduce people looking,” Gill said.
She also says it will be expensive to comply with the new regulations.
The village did abandon a plan to make all the signs the same color.
