Police Arrest Pair Of Serial Burglary Suspects

SAYVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County Police have arrested two people after a neighbor claims they burglarized a home in Sayville.

A resident of Wyandanch Road in Sayville called 911 around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, saying he saw a man climbing through a window into a neighbor's home after a female knocked on the door and got no response.

Responding officers, Kevin Rieppel and Frank Tooker, located the pair, Louis Rosario-Padilla and Kristie Segreto, in the neighborhood a short time later.

Police say the pair was responsible for multiple residential burglaries in Patchogue, dating back to 2010.

Rosario-Padilla, 24, of 32 Carman St. in Patchogue, was charged with five counts of Burglary 2nd Degree. Segreto, 27, of 3 Sandie Court in Patchogue, was charged with three counts of Burglary 2nd Degree.

Both were arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Detectives are continuing to investigate if the two were involved with other burglaries in the area. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
