NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — The owner of the Knicks has finalized a deal to return the NBA team’s games to about 2 million Time Warner Cable subscribers in the New York area.

The Madison Square Garden Co. said Monday that it agreed to a multi-year deal under which the cable operator will carry its networks MSG, MSG+ and Fuse.

A dispute between MSG and Time Warner had left the cable subscribers unable to watch Knicks games since Jan. 1.

That coincided with “Linsanity,” the media frenzy surrounding Jeremy Lin, an untested Knicks point guard who has led the team to eight wins in nine games.

MSG also carries the NHL’s Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Sabres as well as WFAN’s popular Boomer and Carton morning show.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and NBA Commissioner David Stern had pressured the companies to resolve their disagreement.

“I applaud both Mr. Dolan and Mr. Britt and their companies,” Cuomo said Friday. “I thank them for being responsive to the needs of New Yorkers.”

MSG announced the tentative deal Friday.
