For the first time in over 60 years, there will be an NFL game on a Wednesday.
Wednesday, September 5 to be exact. That is when the Giants will kick off the 2012 season against an opponent yet to be determined.
The reason the NFL has chosen to open up the season on a Wednesday, rather than the traditional Thursday start, is to avoid conflicting with President Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention, which is scheduled for Thursday, September 6.
