20-Year-Old Man Shot To Death In Jamaica

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Four people are being questioned in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man in Queens.

Police said plainclothes officers, who were on routine patrol, heard gunshots in front of a building on 159th Street in Jamaica just after midnight Friday.

Police said the officers saw a 19-year-old man with a gun standing over the victim, who was unconscious and unresponsive.

The suspect apparently tried to flee the scene after spotting the officers but was caught when he tried to get into a Chevy Malibu.

Police apprehended the suspect along with two other teens who were in the car.

A fourth suspect was also taken in for questioning.

Police said two firearms were recovered.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police said charges are pending.
