Baby Sitter Accused Of Stealing $10,000 In Cash And Property

NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say a woman stole about $10,000 worth of jewelry, silver and cash from the Long Island home where she worked as a baby sitter.

Thirty-year-old Mirjana Cindric was arrested Saturday at her Oceanside home. Police say she was found to be in possession of two stolen credit cards and a receipt from a pawn shop for a diamond ring that belonged to her former employers.

Last month, detectives helped the former employers recover jewelry and silver that had been stolen from their East Rockaway home between November and February. The items were found at various pawn shops.

Police say Cindric faces charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday. It wasn't immediately clear whether she had an attorney.
