New Yorkers Flock To H&M Stores To Get Their Hands On New Marni Collection

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Affordable retail store, H&M, unveiled its first collection with the high-end Italian fashion house, Marni, at six stores in Manhattan Thursday morning.

The chic spring collection features items selected by Marni's creative director and founder, Consuelo Castiglioni.

"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," Castiglioni said. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian element."

The Fifth Avenue store implemented a system to meet the demand and avoid chaos, including color-coded time slots, a limit of 30 shoppers at a time, and a 15-minute time limit.

According to the H&M website, the color palette is "pragmatic with unexpected ruptures."

For men, black, deep blue and khaki are accented with peaks of light or electric blue, orange and crimson red.
