FDNY Channels 'The Artist,' Releases Silent Fire Safety Video
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Silent movies seem to be all the rage this year.
The Fire Department says they "restored" a classic fire safety video. They say while the film may appear old, its message is timeless.
The thrust of the film is to remind folks to swap their smoke detector batteries when they "spring forward" this weekend.
"The silent black-and-white film demonstrates that while technology may have changed over the years, the FDNY's dedication to fire safety has not," the FDNY wrote on their YouTube channel.
Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday.
