With Mike D’Antoni out as the Knicks head coach, Craig was grinning from ear to ear, calling today a day to celebrate — which is exactly what he did.

Before saying good morning to Boomer, Craig went on to call D’Antoni a coward and a quitter, punctuating his feelings with a good riddance.

Boomer, on the other hand, took a vastly different approach. He pointed to the disturbing trend in the NBA of the players calling the shots, obviously buying into the notion that Carmelo Anthony played a role in D’Antoni’s departure.  Boomer then went on the call for some faction of ownership across the league to ‘show some stones.’

The different takes on the subject led to Boomer & Craig to have a spirited discussion on the NBA being a ‘player’s league,’ minus a couple of exceptions.  One goes by the name of Phil Jackson and many are hoping (and praying) the he will agree to coach the team next year.

Time will tell.

In the meantime, Mike Woodson will play the role of head coach for the Knicks and his debut last night at the Garden could not have gone any better, a 121-79 win over the hapless Portland Trailblazers…
