HOBOKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – Police are investigating a rash of daytime burglaries in Hoboken.

There have been seven reported at four apartment buildings over the past three weeks.

1010 WINS’ Glenn Schuck reports

The latest happened Tuesday in which the door frames of two apartments were busted in a Clinton Street building, netting $5,200 in valuables. Police say pricey electronics like laptops, Kindles and iPad’s were among the items stolen.

Many residents say they’re concerned.

“It’s alarming,” said one resident. “But pretty confident in the police force to take action.”

“Surprised and concerned,” said another resident. “Eventually I’m sure they’ll catch them. The cops are very strong in this city.”

This is the second big wave of burglaries in Hoboken this year. In January, there were 24 burglaries in just 12 days.

Police didn’t find any fingerprints and there were no video surveillance cameras within view of the apartment building on Clinton Street.

Officials are advising resident to install dead bolt locks on their doors if they don’t already have them.
