ISLANDIA, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County say they've found a 6-year-old girl who was seen wandering alone outside.

Officers received a 911 call around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday reporting a little girl, who was originally believed to be about 4-years-old, with no shoes and wearing white pajamas running alone down Bergen Street toward Split Cedar Drive in Islandia.

Police searched the area by foot and by air and interviewed residents in the neighborhood, but weren't able to find the child.
