WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Suffolk County detectives are investigating a robbery Saturday at the Roslyn Savings Bank branch in West Babylon.

Police said a man entered the bank, located at 653 Montauk Highway, at 11:09 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller gave the man cash from the drawer.

The suspect then fled on foot and headed north through the bank parking lot.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s, around 5’8″ with a thin build, brown hair and a chin strap beard.

He was wearing a red baseball hat, dark sunglasses, white-hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
