HAUPPAUGE, NY (CBSNewYork) - It’s looking like a very good year for the Hamptons summer rental season.
WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs On The Story
“It’s very expensive to come out here and rent, right? I mean, who can come and drop $30, $40, $50,000 at the drop of a hat like it’s nothing,” admits James Young of Rosehip Paterners’ Hamptonsrentals.com.
But still he says, “It really started in January with a real bang and a ton of activity.”
He says the trend of multiple people renting the home for the full season is continuing.
“People have been tired of feeling strapped and poor ya know, for the last couple of years,” he said.
He says the best deals are going fast. This is not a year, he adds, to delay.
“If you want a quality house, call it the pick of the litter for example, you gotta come out early,” he said.
Young credits the mild winter with the robust start.
