Major Subway Disruptions In Queens Begin Saturday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Get ready for some major subway disruptions in Queens.

From now until Monday, April 16, there is no Manhattan-bound service on the E and F lines between Parsons Boulevard and 71st Avenue in Forest Hills.

1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria reports

One commuter told 1010 WINS’ Carol D’Auria that if the Transit Authority thinks that’s the best way to do it, then so be it. But what he’s upset about is how the Transit Authority is notifying people.

There’s only a very small sign in the subway booth window.

“Do you think I’m really just looking at this little sign here? I buy a monthly so I don’t even come to the booth,” he told D’Auria.

The Transit Authority says it will make track repairs 24 hours a day until the 16th.

How much will this hinder your daily commute? Sound off with your comments below…

A better move would be to shut down the subway system and BAN all public transportation.

Think “abolish” sounds better, but still get your point.

      1. Robert Moses says:

“Ban” means getting rid of existing transit systems AND preventing new ones from being created. THAT was my point.

Why on a holiday weekend like this are they doing this.People will be using the subways to attend Passover Seders Tonite, and to visit friends and family for Easter tommorow.Did it ever come into their mind to suspend it for this weekend.NO,The MTA does not think that way.Come Monday morning I feel bad for all those commuters who will have to find alternate ways to get to work.Do exactly what The City does not want.Drive in,Carpool, with friends.Split The gas and The Parking.I believe the LIE (not certain) has HOV lanes for vehicles heading for The Queens Midtown Tunnel.
