New York (1010 WINS) – This season, the ASPCA is “Springing” into action to help prevent unwanted litters of dogs and cats from ending up at area shelters with “Operation Spring Break”.

1010 WINS Susan Richard reports:

The cost, for those who do not live in public housing, is usually $125, but from now through April 15th, that fee is being waived.

“The surgery is 100 percent free”, ASPCA Grassroots Outreach Manager Jocelyn Kessler tells 1010 WINS.  “We offer flea and tick treatments and also microchipping for an additional fee, but (as part of the free offer) the surgery itself, the e-collar and all the medications the animals needs, plus important vaccines such as rabies and distemper are all included.”
