EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WFAN/AP) – The Nets have signed guard Armon Johnson to a 10-day contract.

Nets general manager Billy King announced the signing Monday, a day after the team did not renew a 10-day contract for forward Dennis Horner.

Horner will return to Springfield to help the Nets D-League team when the playoffs start this week.

Johnson played in one game with Portland this season before being assigned to the Idaho Stampede of the D-League. In six games with the Stampede, he averaged 11 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 27 minutes. He was recalled on Jan. 15 before being waived by Portland Feb. 27.

The University of Nevada product was a second-round, 2010 draft pick.

Johnson averaged 2.9 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.2 assists per game in 38 games as a rookie.
