With the Mets placing both Jason Bay and Mike Pelfrey on the DL Tuesday, Craig declared this morning that the team’s season has officially begun. On the field the Mets paid tribute to Jose Reyes before halting their two-game slide with a 2-1 win over the Marlins.
They improved to 9-8.
Off the field, according to Craig, the fun has just begun.
After saying good morning, Boomer expressed sympathy for Bay’s plight, as the highly-paid outfielder has had a tough go of it in the Big Apple. Boomer suggested a change of scenery might be the best thing for Bay, while Craig is at his wits end and hinted that he believes he isn’t hurt bad enough to warrant a trip to the DL – presuming this is a move by the Mets to protect the struggling outfielder.
Craig presumption prompted Boomer to threaten his radio partner with a bat to the ribs, an idea Craig was not too keen on and that is how today’s edition of the Morning Extravaganza began…
