Amar’e Stoudmire’s bonehead decision following the Knicks’ Game 2 loss to the Heat was still front and center this morning when Boomer & Craig opened up Thursday’s edition of the Morning Extravaganza shortly after 6 a.m. I mean how could it not be, the guy is being paid a boatload of money to play basketball and will be unable to now thanks to his self-destructive behavior.
Might the Knicks be better off without the services of Stoudemire moving forward against the Heat? The general consensus is yes, the Knicks are better off sans Amar’e. Craig says this sets the stage for Carmelo Anthony to do something special and become an ‘icon.’
Boomer took exception with Craig potentially catapulting Melo to ‘icon’ status, if he were to win a 1st round playoff series – albeit against LeBron James mighty, mighty Heat. From there the Dynamic Radio duo engaged in a spirited discussion about those who have reached the ‘icon’ status and for those who have not, what it takes to do so. Things got a little heated and Uncle Booms was forced to raise his voice and threaten bodily harm to his radio partner…
