NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Andrew “Fuzzy” Levane, who coached the New York Knicks during the late 1950s and later was a longtime scout for the team, has died. He was 92.

The Knicks said that Levane died on Tuesday.

Levane coached the Knicks from 1958-60, leading them to the 1959 playoffs. He also coached the Hawks from 1952 to 1954 — for part of two seasons in Milwaukee and one in St. Louis

Levane starred in college at St. John’s and won the Haggerty Award as the city’s best college player in 1943.
