NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police are hunting for a suspect on Staten Island following a frightening incident Thursday morning.

Police tell CBS 2 that at around 9:30 a.m. a man and woman knocked on the door of a home on Elverton Avenue between Leverett and Barlow in Great Kills.

When the door opened, the man pulled a gun. A struggle ensued, and the occupant of the home ran off.

The man called 911, telling police the perpetrators were inside.

Police responded with the Emergency Services Unit and dogs. The house was cleared.

Police are hunting for the suspects, though the descriptions are somewhat slim. They describe them as a black man with a hoodie and a heavyset woman wearing a nurse’s blouse.
