Roughly 40 of the 188 rental units have gas, but the rest do not.

The property owner, the Solomon Organization, has a contractor working on several gas leaks. There's still a hole in a trench, where repairs continue.

The problem is that when Con Ed has come to check the pressure, other leaks have developed.

A Solomon spokesman told the Journal News that they're distributing electric hot water heaters and everyone should have a backup unit installed by Tuesday.

Residents said they feel like they are in limbo.

"I believe they have to let us know what's really happening over here, and how long it's going to take so we can have a conversation," one resident told Adams. "We understand maybe any emergency can happen here, but there's no solution, They have to be honest with what's happening."
