Bronx School Cancels Graduation Ceremonies For Some Students Because Of Misbehavior

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Dramatic action is being taken at a Bronx school where officials said the students are out of control.

P.S. 132 in the Morrisania section of the borough is replacing graduation with a "moving-up" ceremony for fifth graders, but only for select students.

Some parents admit many students are not well-behaved but they blame the teachers, not the kids.

"They're separated, they're not in groups, they have cliques, they don't work together, they're fighting amongst each other," one parent said.

"I could see you punishing a child or a couple of unruly kids but you take it away from the entire grade? Never!" another parent said.

Parents will be reimbursed for cap and gown photographs taken earlier in the year.

No comment from school administrators.
