Dana Tyler, At The Tonys - Video Interviews With The Nominees

Dana Tyler co-anchors New York's CBS 2 News at 6 PM weekdays with Chris Wragge. In addition to numerous New York Emmy Award nominations over the years, she was nominated for her report in the Health Special: "Race for the Cure." In 2010, she received two Emmy Awards for anchoring the Breaking News Story: "Flight 1549 Lands in the Hudson River" and for her reporting in "Race for the Cure."

Tyler hosts an annual Broadway Theatre special called "At The Tonys With Dana Tyler."

Every year, the day after the Tony nominations are announced, there's a huge "Meet the Nominees" press junket, where reporters can get quick interviews. It's sort of a "Musical Chairs/Broadway Reunion" event, and once again this year, it was held at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in Times Square.

The newly pinned nominees move from reporter to reporter to talk about the nominations. With so many people, it helps me a great deal that I've seen all of the shows. In between those fast chats, the actors are complimenting each other and still photographers are busy at work too. In the background of most of my interviews, you can hear the din of upbeat conversations between nominees, who are a very supportive bunch. Because of their performance schedules, they don't see each other that often.

It's a whirlwind though, with publicists trying to get their clients interviewed while my producer, Franca Braatz, keeps track of who gets interviewed, knowing many of the nominees have matinees to get to. Given all that, it's a very dense three hours, and everyone's in a good mood. Can't beat that!

We always shoot more than we can use for our Tony Awards coverage, so it's a pleasure to share our 'extra' conversations with you.
