NYPD Looking For Suspect Who Fired On Police During Pursuit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect wanted for attempted murder of a police officer in the Bronx.

On Tuesday, officers tried to stop the suspect who was wanted in an attempted robbery earlier in the day.

The suspect fled and during the pursuit, authorities said the man fired at an officer three times.

The original incident for which authorities gave chase involved the aforementioned suspect and another man. The attempted robbery happened at the corner of Manida Street and Lafayette Ave.

Both men approached a 40-year-old victim, displayed a gun and demanded his property, but the suspects fled empty handed, according to police.

Police describe the suspects in the following way:

1. M/H/18-22, 5'08" in height, medium build with black hair.

2. M/B/18-22, 5'10" in height, thin build with black hair.
