WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - A frantic search is underway on Saturday for a missing five-year-old New Jersey boy who police said was kidnapped by his own grandfather.

Police issued an Amber Alert for David Lundy of West Windsor in Mercer County.

He is three-foot-four and weighs 55 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white and green shirt with blue cargo pants.

Police believe that his 50-year-old grandfather — Morris Lundy — snatched the boy at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday night outside an apartment complex. The elder Lundy may be heading to New York State, police said.

Anyone who spots the boy or has any information on the matter is urged to notify police.
