Con Edison, Union Leaders Set To Resume Negotiations On Tuesday
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Con Edison of New York and union leaders talked on Saturday, but there's no deal yet to end the current lockout.
And it won't be until Tuesday at noon when the two sides resume negotiations.
Talks between the utility and UWUA Local 1-2 have been going on for weeks. Con Ed locked out 8,500 union workers after the current contract expired eight days ago.
Both sides said that there are still many sticking points, including changing pension terms.
Con Edison has more than 3,000,000 customers, and has been using managers in the field throughout the lockout.
