Red Bulls Acquire Goalkeeper Gaudette From Galaxy

HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — The Red Bulls have acquired goalkeeper Bill Gaudette from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for New York's 2014 second-round supplemental draft pick.

Gaudette gives the Red Bulls a veteran to back up rookie starter Ryan Meara.

Gaudette appeared in three matches for the Galaxy, going 0-2-1 with a 1.33 goals against average. He came to Los Angeles after a one-year stint with the Montreal Impact of the North American Soccer League.

The 30-year-old began his pro career in MLS with the Columbus Crew, who selected him in the 2005 supplemental draft. He appeared in 17 matches in 2005 and '06, posting MLS career highs in 2006 with 11 appearances, three shutouts and a GAA of 1.18.
