It’s a big week for Toby Keith. Not only was it revealed that he’s been considered for an American Idol judge position, it turns out he’s also going in for surgery.

Apparently, Toby has been in a great deal of pain for quite some time and is now scheduled for what his website is calling a “minor medical outpatient procedure” this week.

As GotCountryOnline.com reports, the surgery is actually to have his gallbladder removed.

Because of the “procedure,” Toby has rescheduled his August 2 show at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin (new date: Aug. 30).

However, it looks like no rest for Toby! The “Red Solo Cup” singer comes off as a “tough as nails” kind of guy, and in this case he’s proving that he is just that. Toby may be taking a day off, but he’s currently scheduled to resume his regular “Live In Overdrive” tour schedule the very next day, appearing August 3 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
