Do You Have A Google Alert Set For Yourself? These Celebrities Do

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The life of a celebrity is all about self-aggrandizing. It's a non-stop routine of red carpets filled with questions about their lives.

But during a recent visit to Los Angeles, TV 10-55's Carolina Bermudez asked some of television's top stars a personal question - one they don't hear very often.

Do you have a Google alert on yourself?

Reactions to the inquiry on the red carpet were all over the place - from the predictable, to the downright suspicious.

"Absolutely not," said Sophia Bush.

"Yes," admitted The Wire's Tristan Wilds. "My mom set it up and sent it to me."

"I don't even know what it is," said Jay Ryan, co-star of the upcoming Beauty and the Beast reboot on the CW. "You can do that? That's what a publicist for."

2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings didn't hold back when giving her response.

"I did [have a Google alert on myself], and then I started reading [it]," she said.  "[I was like] this is self destructive, and everyone has one, but the time comes when you gotta not do it anymore," she said.

LL Cool J said he stays away from the Internet updates.

"I just think people that Google alert themselves, that's a little bizarre," the star said with a laugh.
