Lauren Alaina Put On Vocal Rest And Forced To Cancel Sugarland Appearances

Lauren Alaina has been put on vocal rest by her doctor and forced to cancel her Cincinnati and Detroit appearances on Sugarland’s “In Your Hands” tour.

The American Idol star issued a statement saying “I am so sad that I have to miss this weekend’s shows in Cincinnati and Detroit with Sugarland,” apologetically continuing with “My doctor is putting me on vocal rest. I'm really sorry to disappoint the fans who were coming to see me and my friends Sugarland who have helped me out on their tour. I will make it up to you and be back soon!”

Unfortunately, even singers aren’t immune to getting sick and we wish Lauren a very speedy recovery!

Her replacement is Vonda Shepard, a name you may recognize from early seasons of the 1990s TV show Ally McBeal. Shepard will now be appearing with Sugarland at their shows Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4.

Lauren Alaina isn’t the only artist to have to cancel. Last month Miranda Lambert was put on vocal rest for over-extending her voice.
