Must Watch: Straphangers Nearly Nab iPhone Thief In Subway-Station Turnstile

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – They almost got him.

NYPD surveillance video shows that straphangers got extremely close to nabbing an iPhone thief last month.

Police said that a thug punched a man on the R Train at Canal Street on the evening of June 22 and ran off with his  iPhone.

The victim and two other passengers chased him into a turnstile and held him there for about 20 seconds, but the man managed to throw himself against the bars until he got away.
