Police: Cops Shoot Armed-Robbery Suspect In Leg After Report Of Gunfire In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - New York City police said that an armed-robbery suspect has been shot in the leg by officers responding to a report of gunfire in Brooklyn.

The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. on Saturday after the responding officers discovered a robbery victim with a gunshot wound on the street.

Police said that the officers spotted a 21-year-old man running away from the scene. As they chased him, he turned and shot at them. They returned fire and hit him in the right leg.

Both the robbery victim and the suspected bandit were hospitalized. Charges are pending.
