A-Rod's Hand Looking 'A-OK' After Latest X-Ray

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Alex Rodriguez says his fractured left hand is looking "A-OK."

A-Rod suffered the injury when he was hit on the hand by a Felix Hernandez pitch last month. An X-ray taken Thursday gave the Yankees third baseman reason to believe he's right on target to return.

"Waiting now, just have to wait it out," Rodriguez said Sunday, according to the New York Daily News. "There's nothing I can do but wait it out now."

It was expected that the 37-year-old could miss four to six weeks.

The three-time AL MVP boasted a .315 batting average over 19 games in July before being injured. Rodriguez has been with the team, keeping sharp by fielding ground balls and throwing a football.
