Cops: Kidnapper Tried To Grab 11-Year-Old Girl In Manhattan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities are looking for a suspect in connection with an attempted kidnapping on the Upper West Side.

Police said the suspect approached an 11-year-old girl and grabbed her arm on July 31 at West 61 Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

The child pulled away from the man who tried to grab her arm a second time and pull her toward him. The child was able to break away and the suspect ran south on Amsterdam, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 40 and 50 years old, 170 pounds with a mustache and a bump on his left eye. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and blue pants.
