NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police arrested a man Tuesday who they said robbed a 9-year-old Bronx boy in his apartment building.
Michael Johnson, 54, was charged with robbery in the August 8 incident.
Authorities said Johnson followed the young boy into his Fordham apartment, threw him into a wall before taking his money and fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
According to a report in the New York Post, Johnson followed the boy on his way home from a bodega near East 183rd Street and Belmont Avenue.
The boy reportedly had $19 cash on him.
The Post also reported that Johnson has a criminal record dating back to 1985 for mostly drug-related offenses.
