EAST MORICHES, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Authorities on Long Island have arrested a man they said possessed a large quantity of illicit material involving young children.

Suffolk County police arrested Damien O’Brien, 32, on Wednesday and charged him with one of count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Authorities said detectives from the Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at 13 Linda Lane in East Moriches and seized items, including computers, hard drives, CDs and DVDs.

The computers and media, which police said belonged to O’Brien, contained a large quantity of child pornography, according to authorities.

O’Brien was to be held overnight at the 7th Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
