B&C Morning Show: Hughes Shines, Craig Thinks Cooley Would Be Cool For Jets, Boomer Drops A Hutton Reference

The guys opened up a special Wednesday radio program by breaking down a big win for the Bombers in the Bronx against the Jays. Phil Hughes notched his 13th win with 7 scoreless innings in the Bronx. Craig praised the young right-hander for his effort.  Meanwhile Boomer said the performance was not the "crispist" of starts, but does agree that it was a solid outing for Hughes.

As the Yankees talk continued, Boomer showed his age with an E.F. Hutton reference. Of course half of our audience has no idea what Mr. Esiason meant by it. Eddie and Al poked fun at Boomer for his archaic reference with a clip from 1979, which of course was the year No. 7 graduated from high school.

After that embarrassment ensued, the boys moved on to one of the hottest topics in NY sports right now…the New York Jet offense. It's no secret that Gang Green's O has struggled mightily in the preseason, but help may be on the way. The Redskins recently released TE Chris Cooley. Double C has fought the injury bug the last few years, but in the past has been a productive player in this league. Craig is adamant about the Jets giving him a look. Hey it couldn't hurt!
