Long Island Woman Willing To Trade Car For Safe Return Of Lost Engagement Ring

BOHEMIA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman is desperately trying to find her lost engagement ring.

Graphic designer Annemarie Albate, who got engaged in December, believes she dropped the ring Tuesday in the parking lot of the Kmart store in Bohemia.

Albate said she had taken off the ring and put it in her front pocket along with her wallet.

"I was just about to put it on, when I got in the car and I had thrown the wallet in the car," Albate said. "I think when I pulled the wallet out, the ring came out as well and I didn't notice it until I was on the road on my way to work."

Albate has posted an ad under the lost and found section on Craigslist and created a page on Facebook in hopes of finding the ring.

"I'm extremely upset, I'm shaking, I can't sleep," Albate said. "I checked the car, I checked my apartment, I checked inside Kmart, I have checked the parking lot multiple times."

Albate is willing to trade her 2010 Lotus Exige sports car, which is worth $65,000, motorcycles or cash for the ring's safe return.

"I'm just sure that somebody has picked it up and has it and I'm willing to give them whatever they want, no questions asked," Albate said. "They can have whatever I own."

The ring has a one carat raised round center stone with diamonds on a white gold band.
