Cops: 2 Men Threaten Bronx Livery Driver With Hammer Before Driving Off In His Cab

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two suspects are being sought for threatening a livery cab driver with a hammer during a robbery in the Bronx before fleeing in his car, police said.

The 52-year-old driver picked up the suspects around 6:20 a.m. Saturday at East 163rd Street and Southern Boulevard, police said.

After arriving at their destination, the suspects put the driver in a chokehold and threatened him with a hammer, police said.

The suspects then robbed the driver, pushed him out of the cab and drove off in his vehicle, police said.

Both men are believed to be about 5-feet-6-inches tall. They were both wearing a baseball hat, T-shirt and jeans, police said.

One of the suspects is believed to be in his 30s, the other in his 40s.
